Stress
Stress is a result of natural forces from the outside world affecting the individual. The individual responds to stress in ways that affect the then as well as their environment. It includes a state of alarm and adrenaline hormone production, short-term resistance as a coping mechanism, and exhaustion.

Common stress symptoms include irritability, muscular tension, aches, pain, stiffness, inability to concentrate and a variety of physical reactions, such as headaches and elevated heart rate.

In general, stress is related to both external and internal factors. External factors include the physical environment, including your job, your relationships with others, your home, and all the situations, challenges, difficulties, and expectations you're confronted with on a daily basis. Internal factors determine your body's ability to respond to, and deal with, the external stress-inducing factors.

One of the common stresses in London is job stress or work stress. A little pressure is good and helps to keep us motivated but too much can lead to stress, which can affect your health and performance.

Causes of work stress (job stress)
  • The type of work you do like sitting on desk, working with computer long hours, busy place, lack of breaks, boring tasks, not achieving your goals, too much responsibility can cause work stress.
  • Living in central of big cities like London
  • Not being involved in decision-making, poor communication can cause job stress.
  • Receiving no help or support. Lack of support or help from co-workers and supervisors, conflicting expectations cause work stress.
  • Worries about job stability. Job insecurity, lack of opportunity for growth or advancement is causing work stress.
