Educational workshops
Rose Clinic runs regular manual and hands-on technique workshops for junior physiotherapists and final-year students. Sessions bring practical treatment techniques together with clinical reasoning and an evidence-informed approach.
Participants practise joint mobilisation, gliding, distraction, facet-joint mobilisation, friction, nerve mobilisation and physiotherapy massage techniques for Musculoskeletal and sports injuries. The workshops are hands-on, with feedback as you practise.
A completion certificate is provided to participants.
Work placements
Placements are available over one week or one month for junior physiotherapists and final-year students. The duration is matched to your objectives and the experience you are looking to gain.
You can practise hands-on techniques daily with supervision and feedback. Clinical communication, HCPC and CSP professional standards, assessment and evidence-informed decision-making are also part of the learning experience.
This subject can be completed separately or alongside a manual-techniques placement. It explores the role of exercise in rehabilitation, including loading, progression, safety and outcome measures.
Learn how to choose and adapt exercise for an individual, from concentric, eccentric and isometric work to condition-specific rehabilitation and general fitness.
Qualified physiotherapists can enquire about a one-day workshop or a one-week/month placement. Overseas physiotherapists applying for HCPC registration may also apply for a Rose Clinic placement.
Assessment
On a one-month placement, you can learn a full physiotherapy assessment in a clinical setting, with detailed feedback throughout the process. This includes analysing symptoms, asking appropriate subjective questions and understanding how differential diagnosis is considered.
You will also practise objective assessment and relevant specific tests for Musculoskeletal and sports injuries, with the aim of building confidence in a clear, systematic approach.
A completion certificate is provided for placements.
Student placement
Rose Clinic provides student placements, usually for final-year BSc and MSc students from UK and international universities. The programme is for students seeking a high standard of Musculoskeletal knowledge and clinical experience.
To apply, send your CV and cover letter. After review, suitable candidates may be invited for interview. Once a placement is offered, you can then coordinate the process with your university placement coordinator.
